Baby, Toddler & Beyond
Staffordshire's biggest shopping event for all new and expectant parents!
Abigail Cooper and Louise Hunt had met briefly on the school yard, but it wasn’t until a playdate in the summer holidays of 2016 that the two mums had the opportunity to get to know one another and found out that they had both always worked in full-time, corporate roles and had now recently moved into similar fields selling beauty products on a part time basis, in order to look after their young families. Whilst on the playdate, they joked around and brainstormed different ways to expand their businesses to earn more of a full-time income whilst still allowing them the precious time to spend at home with their children.
The feeling of being able to remain as full-time mummies, whilst working on building a business for the future excited both of them and a phone call followed in which the two decided that together they had to give it a go!
From this, ‘Mummy’s Markets’ was born…… named as such because they were two mummies hosting market stall and family fun days to help other new and small businesses showcase their products whilst all the family enjoyed a fun day out. Brand awareness started to grow and a partnership with The Dougie Mac developed which led to all their community events now raising funds and awareness for this fabulous local cause.
After a first successful year, they decided to upscale their business and expand their event portfolio, rebranding as MM Events.
In 2018 they launched their new, flagship baby, the Baby, Toddler & Beyond event in October and after seeing over 1000 families come through the doors they decided to make the event a permanent fixture at the Moat House Hotel at Festival Park on a twice yearly basis! For these events they partner with The Peter Pan Centre charity, raising funds and awareness through promotions, advertising and on the day raffles where customers can expect to win amazing prizes, from companies including Mothercare Stoke, Window to the Womb and Toland Photography, to name but a few. All proceeds going directly to help the charity to continue to provide support to children from birth to 5 years who have a range of conditions, such as cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder, visual and hearing impairments, physical delays and speech and language delays – which may or may not have been officiality diagnosed.
